A presenter, host, or hostess, is a person responsible for the running of a public event or TV Show. A person who hosts or presents other kinds of public entertainment may also be known as a master of ceremonies (often abbreviated to MC, or emcee).
A master of ceremonies (also used in its abbreviated forms MC or emcee) or compère is the official host of a staged event or similar performance. An MC usually presents performers, speaks to the audience, and generally keeps the event moving. An MC may also tell jokes or anecdotes. The MC sometimes also acts as the protocol officer during an official state function.
TV Hosts may present shows aired on public television, or for other digital broadcast platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Live Streams, etc.
